This itinerary combines some trekking in the heart of the picturesque Khumbu region with a helicopter trip over Everest base camp and Kala Pattar and some cultural sightseeing in Kathmandu. For those with limited time, this allows for some spectacular mountain views of Everest and its surrounding neighbors.

Day 1  : Arrive in Kathmandu
Day 2  : Fly to Lukla (2,850 m); trek to Monjo (2,936 m) (B/L/D)
Day 3  : Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440 m) (B/L/D)
Day 4  : Rest day at Namche Bazaar (B/L/D)
Day 5  : Trek to Tashinga (3,450m) (B/L/D)
Day 6  : Trek to Thyangboche (3,865m), then return to Tashinga (B/L/D)
Day 7  : Helicopter ride over Everest base camp/Kala Pattar (5,545m) and back to Kathmandu (B)
Day 8  : Half-day sightseeing in Swayambhunath and Kathmandu (B/D)
